Assistant Professor, Business (Economics/Finance)

The School of Business and Technology at Seton Hill University invites qualified candidates to apply for an Assistant Professor of Economics faculty position with a specialty in Finance to begin August 2025. The applicant must hold a graduate degree in Economics/Finance and any one of the professional certifications (CFP, CFS, CGFM, CIIA, CPWA, CFA, CIA, etc) would be considered a plus. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in FinTech and/or related field technology. A doctorate in economics or finance would be preferred.

We are seeking a candidate passionate about teaching that prepares students for future careers in economics and finance. Teaching assignments include in-class and online courses in economics and finance at the graduate (MBA) and undergraduate economics and finance levels. The candidate will be expected to participate in professional and program development, advising, outcomes assessment, scholarship, and service activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teaching a full range of finance and economics courses.
  • Preparing and maintaining programs for continuous professional development and enhancement of industry relations, including current and potential internship sites.
  • Assessing and improving student learning.
  • Contributing to curriculum planning and development.
  • Managing and /or assisting with special projects, recruitment initiatives, and campus events including, but not limited to orientation programs, open houses, and community service activities.
  • Active participation in university committees
Qualifications:
Minimum:
  • A Masters in Economics/Finance with a focus on finance.
  • A background of professional experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully work and advance in an industry environment.
  • Digital literacy in FinTech, software, and internet applications related to the field of specialization.

Assistant Professor/Instructor of Computer Science

The School of Business and Technology at Seton Hill University invites qualified candidates to apply for an Instructor/Assistant Professor of Computer Science faculty position to begin as early as January 2025 or Fall 2025 per the candidate's availability. The applicant must hold a graduate degree in Computer Science. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in AI and other new and emerging technologies. A doctorate in Computer Science is preferred.

We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about teaching that prepares students for future careers in Computer Science.  Teaching assignments include in-class and online courses in Computer Science at the undergraduate levels. The candidate will be expected to participate in professional and program development, advising, outcomes assessment, scholarship, and service activities.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate courses across the computer science curriculum, including foundational courses, data structures, algorithms, software development, and computer systems.
  • Develop and expand curriculum in emerging areas such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, data science, or software engineering.
  • Engage in active research with potential for peer-reviewed publications and student involvement.
  • Advise students, including directing capstone projects and assisting with internship placement.
  • Participate in departmental and university committees, as well as service initiatives that contribute to Seton Hill’s mission and community engagement.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field by the start date.
  • Certifications: Certifications in software development, data science, or AI (such as AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty, Microsoft Certified Azure AI Engineer, or Google Professional Data Engineer) are highly preferred.
  • Experience: Prior experience in college-level teaching is preferred. Industry experience in software development, data science, AI, or a related field is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Ability to teach a wide range of computer science topics and engage with advanced topics in the candidate’s area of specialization.
  • A demonstrated ability to disseminate information to an expansive group of students in an engaging, experiential manner.
  • A record of success in a team environment.

Assistant Professor/Instructor of Cybersecurity

  • Advise students, including supervising capstone projects and guiding students through internships and research opportunities.
  • Participate in department and university service, as well as community outreach activities relevant to cybersecurity.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Education: Masters degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science with a focus on cybersecurity, Information Security, or a closely related field by the start date.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or Certified Ethical Hacker are strongly preferred.
  • Experience: Previous college-level teaching experience is preferred. Relevant industry experience in cybersecurity, especially in penetration testing, network security, or secure software engineering, is highly desirable.
  • Skills: Demonstrated ability to teach a range of cybersecurity topics, strong knowledge of security protocols, and the ability to keep pace with the evolving field of cybersecurity.
  • A demonstrated ability to disseminate information to an expansive group of students in an engaging, experiential manner.
  • A record of success in a team environment.

Assistant/Associate Professor Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics

Seton Hill University Advanced Education Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics invites applications for a full-time, Clinician-Educator track at the Assistant/Associate Professor level.  Academic rank will be commensurate with credentials and experience.  Candidates must possess a dental degree DMD/DDS; must have completed post-graduate education in orthodontics from an ADA CODA graduate program, and must have, or be eligible for a dental license in the State of Pennsylvania before hired. Pennsylvania does not offer a restricted temporary faculty license for our program. ABO certification, master’s degree, and experience in teaching, research, and clinical practice are desirable. Responsibilities are mainly teaching (didactic and clinical supervision of residents), but may also include research, administrative duties, and service. All duties are at the graduate level since there is no pre-doctoral program.  The salary will be commensurate with the candidate's qualifications, experience, and credentials. Director of Outreach and Innovation, School of Business and Technology

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The role of this position is to work with the Dean of the School of Business and Technology and the Provost of the University to:

  • Identify and assist with initial development of cutting-edge business and technology curriculum at the certificate, undergraduate and graduate level.
  • Direct outreach efforts for the School of Business and Technology to the corporate community in southwestern Pennsylvania to:
    • Increase knowledge of Seton Hill University’s academic programs to those businesses.
    • Develop pathways of involvement with key businesses in southwestern Pennsylvania that includes but is not limited to internships, enrollment opportunities, and advisory relationships.
  • Create and staff the Dean's Advisory Council for Business and Technology.
  • Serve as an instructor in the School of Business and Technology for up to six credits (2 classes) annually.
  • Provide direction for existing and proposed mentorship programs including developing a Mentorship Council in coordination with the Office of Institutional Advancement.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Appropriate graduate degree in an area of business or technology.
  • Significant experience in effectively creating business development programs.
  • Knowledge of new business and technology trends including, but not limited to Al (Artificial Intelligence), Blockchain, and Entrepreneurship; and the ability to translate that knowledge into curriculum development.
  • Experience teaching at a college or university level.
  • Experience in mentorship programs.

About the Position:

The Graduate Program Director will shape our graduate offerings by leading curriculum development, collaborating with faculty to enhance program quality, and ensuring alignment with industry standards and student needs. This leadership role requires academic expertise, strategic vision, and administrative skills to foster a thriving graduate community. The position reports to the Dean and collaborates with the Director of the Office of Graduate and Online Bachelors and Certificates.

Duties & Responsibilities

The Graduate Program Director will design and enhance graduate curricula to meet academic and industry standards, collaborating with faculty to develop new courses and programs. They will manage daily program operations, including scheduling and resource allocation while coordinating with academic advisors to support student success. The Director will facilitate professional development for faculty and mentor graduate students, addressing their needs to improve the academic experience. Strategic planning is essential, involving the expansion of graduate offerings and building industry partnerships for internships and career placement. Additionally, the Director will implement assessment tools to evaluate program effectiveness, prepare performance and accreditation reports, manage the program budget, lead special projects such as accreditation processes, and participate in university committees to support the academic community.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in graduate program administration or a similar academic leadership role.
  • Proven expertise in online instruction and course development.

Program Director, Occupational Therapy Doctorate

The School of Natural and Health Sciences at Seton Hill University invites applications for a full-time, twelve-month, tenure-track position, beginning fall 2025, to serve as the Program Director, and core faculty member, of a developing Occupational Therapy Doctorate (OTD) program. Internal and accreditation (ACOTE) approvals will be completed by summer 2025. Seton Hill’s occupational therapy doctorate program focus is optimizing health and wellbeing throughout the lifespan by engaging in meaningful activities and occupations. Responsibilities and Duties

The Program Director is a core faculty member responsible for the management and administration of the program, including planning, evaluation, budgeting, selection of faculty and staff, maintenance of accreditation, and commitment to strategies for professional development. The Director reports to the Dean and Provost.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Eight years of occupational therapy experience including
    • Clinical practice as an occupational therapist
    • Administrative experience including, but not limited to, program planning and implementation, personnel management, evaluation, and budgeting.
    • Scholarship (e.g. scholarship of application, scholarship of teaching and learning)
    • Understanding of the role of the occupational therapist assistant
    • At least three years of experience on a full-time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities at the postbaccalaureate level.
  • Doctoral degree (professional entry or post professional).
  • Commitment to optimizing health and wellbeing through occupation.
  • Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to foster collaborative problem-solving.
  • Exceptional ability to multitask and manage projects.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusiveness and cultural competence.
  • Licensed or eligible for Pennsylvania occupational therapy licensure.
    Experience preferred in
    • Working with underrepresented students and students from at-risk backgrounds.
    • Supervising, managing or mentoring others.
