Study Multiple Languages

You can never understand one language until you understand at least two.

- Geoffrey Willans

If you love Spanish, we know you are also likely interested in studying other languages and cultures. ¡Buenas noticias!  We offer a range of Modern Language programming at Seton Hill, including 4 language minors:

The Modern Language Minor allows you to combine the study of at least two different Modern Languages with study abroad. All language minors are 18 credits (6 courses), and can be combined with study abroad experiences. Study abroad is encouraged for all students, and it is required for the Spanish major, the World Cultures and Languages major, the Modern Language Minor, and the Medical Spanish minor.

Our Critical Language Programs (a designation used by the Federal Government to recognize languages of national security interest) include:

  • Arabic
  • Chinese
  • Japanese
  • Russian
  • Haitian Creole
  • Portuguese
  • Swahili

These courses are offered in a hybrid multilingual environment with native speaking partners from throughout the world, as well as via a synchronous online environment with experienced language teachers from throughout the world in collaboration with World of Learning via Intermediate Unit 8.

We hope that you will study not only Spanish but also one of the many other languages offered here at Seton Hill!
