Spanish Program Study Abroad

All Spanish majors (along with Medical Spanish minors and Modern Language minors) study abroad during their time at Seton Hill. You have many options for completing this exciting adventure!Study Abroad
  • Study abroad for a full semester in Córdoba, Spain via our cooperative agreement with the University of Córdoba in southern Spain. Seton Hill students have the opportunity to experience a culture different from their own, to broaden their view of the world, and to deepen mutual understanding, by undertaking formal coursework at an accredited institution of higher learning, and having this coursework recognized and approved at Seton Hill.
  • Meet university students from Córdoba who come to study at Seton Hill during our spring semester.
  • Study abroad during May term or January term via our short-term, faculty-led programs in Latin America and Spain. Seton Hill Spanish faculty lead a trip every year, and recent trips have included 3-week intensive study with homestays and cultural excursions in Spain, Argentina, Costa Rica, Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands, the Canary Islands (Spain) and Peru. Students can obtain from 3 to 6 credits, meeting the Global Cultures requirement of the liberal arts core component and obtaining credit towards the Spanish major, minor or the Modern Language requirement. 
  • Study abroad for a full semester in any Spanish-speaking country in the world. Recent students have chosen to study in Perú, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Spain, the Dominican Republic and many other places via international immersive study programs.


Teach English Abroad

Consider applying for teaching positions abroad after you graduate! There are many programs that pay Spanish majors to teach English abroad in Spanish-speaking countries.

  • Fulbright - US Student Program: Seton Hill Spanish majors have had great success receiving Fulbrights to teach abroad in Spanish speaking countries after graduation

  • Spanish Ministry of Culture - Intercultural US Ambassadors: Consider applying to work with the Ministerio de Cultura de España to teach abroad after graduation

  • Meddeas: Seton Hill grads have worked with Meddeas to teach abroad in Spain after graduation

  • TAPIF (Teaching Assistant Program in France): French Consulate

Seton Hill has international students from many parts of the world, representing diverse cultures and languages. At our International Student Dinner, sponsored by the Office of Global and Cultural Connections, Spanish, French, and Italian Clubs work with students from all over the world to create amazing meals to share with the campus community. In recent years we have made tortilla de patatas, gazpacho, tostones, maduros, pollo criollo, morir soñando, and a range of other foods and beverages to share.
