Program Overview 

thinkit_seeit_beit_logoTHINK It, SEE It, BE It: Business Pipeline Program is an initiative within the School of Business designed to expand pathways into the fields of accounting, finance, and cybersecurity. The program provides structured, hands-on experiences that help students explore career opportunities and develop essential skills through a three-phase approach:

  • Phase 1) THINK It: create interest in the accounting, finance and cybersecurity professions through participation in growth mindset training, terminology and concept exposure through: games, exercises, and experiential learning projects and self-designed applications 
  • Phase 2) SEE It: 2-day summer camp with hands-on workshops to learn more about the roles and responsibilities of each profession with opportunities connect with mentors, career coaches, faculty and career professionals. 
  • Phase 3) BE It: begin the steps related to the career pathway for each profession through exposure to Wukich Center client firms, professionals (as mentors) and networking, internships or job shadowing, competitions and career planning activities. 

This program will be implemented through collaborative partnerships within school districts, with community partners, small business owners, faculty and staff.

Ideal Participants  

  • High school junior or senior, grade average of “C” in math or science.
  • Seton Hill University student with an undecided major or minor; GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Demonstrates the C.A.R.E. (Character, Aptitude, Responsibility & Engagement) Model to represent leadership, courage and integrity.  
  • Hobbies or interests in: gaming, problem solving, creativity, bodybuilding, coding, woodworking or music theory.
  • Referred by teacher or professor, career or guidance counselor, coach or community leader; self-applications also acceptable.

Participants Receive

  • A minimum $500 stipend as well as other prizes and scholarship opportunities.
  • Program transportation, meals, career clothes, site visits to college campus, and small businesses.
  • Certificate-based training, workshops, tutoring, small business projects, program materials, books and supplies. 
  • Personalized “TSB Passport” (Academic and/or career pathway plan).
  • One-on-one mentorship, job shadow an executive or professional, internship opportunities.

Time Line

Phase I: THINK it (create interest thru engagement, exposure, workshops)

Fall or Spring

Phase 2: SEE it (learn roles, career planning, mentors + 2-day camp)

Summer

Phase 3 BE it (career pathway through internships, job shadow, projects)
