HR Grad a Performance & Innovation Consultant for Business Software Co. SAP Ariba
Kevin Welty’s initial career took him into sales, but he found he was more interested in staff development.
“The whole time, I just had this business passion inside of me to help people,” says Welty, who earned his degree in Human Resources at Seton Hill.
He found the perfect fit in a job developing workers’ talents at SAP Ariba, a German-owned software company with an office on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
Welty, who also coaches the boys’ lacrosse team at Pine-Richland High School, helps staff members and company interns “be the best versions of themselves.”
"Even though I left 'the Hill,' it never left me."
“We work on culture of the organization,” he says. “I work with these really amazing people every day. ... I work a lot on how we can prepare our organization for the next generation of talent.”
Welty thanks his holistic Seton Hill education for preparing him for his career.
“In addition to having a balance of very challenging academic requirements, that experience really molded me to be able to handle the pressures of coming into the corporate world,” he says.
“Even though I left ’The Hill,’ it never left me.”
Seton Hill’s young alumni are making their mark on the world through their work in science and healthcare, finance and business, industry, entertainment and service to those in need. The Fall/Winter 2019 edition of Seton Hill’s Forward magazine featured 30 of these alumni, all under the age of 30. You can find all of their stories here on Seton Hill’s site (just look for the “30 Under 30” icon).
