Registered Dietitian and Certified Lactation Counselor Helping New Mothers and Infants at Children’s Hospital
Jessica Lieb Kirin has committed herself to helping others reach their goals through nutrition and strength training.
At UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Kirin has spent the past eight years providing medical nutrition therapy to people ranging from newborns to age 26.
She works with doctors to care for both inpatients and outpatients in many areas, including nephrology, neurology and trauma. Kirin also provides lactation counseling to new moms whose infants are admitted to the hospital.
“It has been and remains my passion to educate and empower children and their families about the healing power of food all the way from the soil to their bodies,” Kirin says. “I not only get to help guide them toward a healthier lifestyle, I get to walk alongside them during challenging times and learn from their strength and be lifted by their spirits despite their circumstances.”
Five years ago, Kirin began a second job at SuperSlow Zone, where she provides strength-training instruction to teenagers and adults.
Kirin credits the Coordinated Program in Nutrition and Dietetics at Seton Hill for preparing her for all possible career pathways.
