Chloe Pohland and Joey Kremer have both had a long-time interest in entering the medical field that led to each enrolling in Seton Hill’s first class in the Daniel J. Wukich School of Nursing.

Pohland, a graduate of Greater Latrobe High School, said she was interested in the medical field because her mother is a pharmacist.

“I thought nursing might be where my interest lies because I’d rather get to know patients and spend time with them rather than just be there for a few minutes and diagnose,” she said.

While Pohland originally was looking at a larger school, she found a sense of community at Seton Hill.

“At Seton Hill you’re more than a number,” she said. “People are all so nice and that means something to me.”

Kremer, a graduate of Shaler Area High School, was recruited to play football at Seton Hill and several other universities.

Always interested in the medical field, Kremer had decided to pursue nursing.

“Seton Hill had the best academically to offer,”Kremer said. “Once I heard they had a new nursing program this year, that made my decision.”
