A native of Westmoreland County, Alvin Maloy attended Westmoreland County Community College (WCCC) before transitioning to Seton Hill University. Alvin is currently chasing a degree in accounting through the Adult Degree Program.
“The transition from WCCC to Seton Hill was seamless," he says. “I came across SHU and the Adult Degree Program during an open house at WCCC. By the time I returned home from work that night, Seton Hill had sent me information. They stayed in constant contact with me, making sure any questions I had were quickly answered.”
"This program is perfect for me and anyone like me who has a full time job and family."
Alvin is taking advantage of Seton Hill’s FastForward to an MBA Program to earn a combined bachelor’s and master’s in accounting. His goal is to earn his Certified Public Accountant credential and open his own accounting firm. He is also in the process of starting a nonprofit agency aimed at helping disadvantaged children.
“I am in my first semester. While the classes are demanding in the shortened 8 week session, they are straightforward and easy to follow. My professors have been extremely helpful and understanding,” Alvin said. “This program is perfect for me and anyone like me who has a full time job and family. Seton Hill will be wonderful in accommodating not only my educational goals but my career and life goals as well.”
