Kameron Taylor (SHU 16) Plays Professional Basketball in Germany
Experiences at Seton Hill Prepared Him for Life in Another Country
When his basketball playing days at Seton Hill came to an end, Kameron Taylor found himself with the opportunity to continue to play professionally. Team Ehingen Urspring of Germany offered Kameron a contract, and, after discussing with his family, friends and agent, he decided to take advantage of the opportunity.
“The best part is I am able to travel abroad and see new places and create new experiences with teammates who I call my friends.”
Kameron graduated from Seton Hill in 2016 with a degree in sociology. He said that his experience at Seton Hill – meeting students from all over the world including Europe – made him feel ready for Germany before he even arrived.
“The best part is I am able to travel abroad and see new places and create new experiences with teammates who I call my friends.”
A starter in his first year with the team averaging 11.6 points per game, Kameron expects to sign a new contract either with his German team or look for other playing opportunities in the United States or Europe.
When his basketball career comes to an end, Kameron feels secure knowing that he has gained global experiences that will enable him to move on to new opportunities.
Seton Hill’s young alumni are making their mark on the world through their work in science and healthcare, finance and business, industry, entertainment and service to those in need. The Spring/Winter 2017 edition of Seton Hill’s Forward magazine featured 30 of these alumni, all under the age of 30. You can find all of their stories here on Seton Hill’s site (just look for the “30 Under 30” icon).
