Why a BSN is Important
- Many hospitals and healthcare organizations now require a BSN as a minimum educational requirement.
- Nurses holding a BSN are eligible for higher-paying management roles and nursing specializations.
- According to a joint statement of professional nursing organizations, including the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, “without a more educated nursing workforce, the nation’s health will be further at risk.”

This program has 6 start dates every year. Flexible full-time and part-time options are available. With the right amount of transferred credits you can complete this program in as little as 10 months. You can work as a licensed RN while earning your BSN degree at Seton Hill.
RN to BSN Practicum Experiences
The RN to BSN major includes practicum and service learning experiences including a capstone experience designed by you to meet your individual professional goals. With the guidance of the course instructor and/or program director, you select either a health-related project or on-site experience in an agency or clinical setting. A local preceptor specific to the requirements of the practicum course is needed. In some instances, the course instructor may pre-arrange local service learning activities to fulfill practicum requirements.
Transferring Credits
Seton Hill awards you 33 credits for having earned your RN license. You can also transfer in up to 90 credits overall. We will be happy to take a look at the academic credits you've already earned and give you an unofficial estimate of what will transfer. If you're currently enrolled in another school and plan to transfer in the future, we can help you choose the courses at your current school that will have the best chance of being accepted at Seton Hill.
