Seton Hill University Launches New Online Graduate Nursing Programs for Fall 2026
Associate Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences Honored with Award for Service to Profession
Seton Hill will be welcoming students into two new online nursing programs this fall as part of the expansion of the College of Health Professions and Natural Sciences.
The Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Education and the dual degree Master of Science in Nursing/Master of Business Administration were designed to prepare working RNs for advanced roles in the field. Programs are flexible, with asynchronous classes and online support, and can be completed in just two years.
Seton Hill’s MSN in Leadership & Education combines courses in instructional design and organizational leadership to prepare students for advanced roles in the field, including Nurse Manager, Nurse Educator, Director of Nursing, Clinical Educator, and Academic Faculty positions.
Seton Hill’s MSN/MBA Dual Degree focuses on integrating graduate-level business knowledge with the realities of healthcare delivery. This program will prepare students for employment in Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), Director of Nursing, Healthcare Administrator and Nurse Manager positions.
“Future nurse practitioners and nursing leaders will need educational preparation that extends beyond advanced clinical care to include leadership, systems thinking, healthcare innovation, business and organizational strategy, and interprofessional collaboration,” said Associate Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences Anthony Good.
“That vision is reflected in the continued growth of graduate healthcare education at Seton Hill University, including the launch of our MSN Leadership and Education and MSN/MBA programs this fall, with additional expansion of nurse practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice programs on the horizon as we continue preparing healthcare professionals for the evolving needs of patients, organizations, and communities.”
Applicants to the program must have earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or higher degree from an accredited nursing program. Students also need to have a current, unencumbered registered nurse (RN) license in the United States, and licensure must be maintained throughout enrollment in the program.
Additional requirements and information can be found on the MSN Leadership and Education and MSN/MBA program pages on Seton Hill’s website. Looking for more information about graduate nursing programs at Seton Hill? Schedule your visit to campus or plan to attend an online information session.
LHNPA Honors Associate Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences
Associate Dean of Nursing and Health Sciences Anthony Good was selected to receive the Lorrie Borrell Outstanding Nurse Practitioner Award at the Laurel Highlands Nurse Practitioner Association (LHNPA) conference in April. The award was established in 2019 to honor the founder and first president of the LHNPA, and is presented annually to a nurse practitioner who has been proactive in protecting and enhancing the role of the nurse practitioner in the Laurel Highlands regional area.
“My involvement with the Laurel Highlands Nurse Practitioner Association has always been rooted in service to the profession and support for fellow nurse practitioners. Serving as president has allowed me to focus on mentorship, advocacy, and strengthening professional connections throughout our region,” said Good. “Receiving the Outstanding Nurse Practitioner Award is especially meaningful because it comes from colleagues and peers who share a commitment to advancing patient care and the profession.”
Dr. Good has served as LHNPA president since 2024 and was nominated for the award by his colleagues for his commitment to enhancing the visibility of nurse practitioners within the Laurel Highlands community, guiding the organization's strategic direction and strengthening member engagement, and expanding educational opportunities for nurses looking to further their careers.
“Throughout my career in clinical practice and higher education, I have become increasingly passionate about helping nurses grow into confident leaders, educators, and advanced clinicians,” Good said. “At Seton Hill University, our graduate nursing programs are designed to support that transformation by combining strong clinical preparation with leadership development, evidence-based practice, and interprofessional collaboration.”Dr. Good came to Seton Hill in the summer of 2025 from Saint Francis University where he served as Associate Professor and Program Director. He was previously an adjunct faculty member and later an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Carlow University. Dr. Good has more than 27 years of clinical experience and continues to maintain an active practice as a nurse practitioner.
Seton Hill University College of Health Professions and Natural Sciences
At the beginning of the 2025-26 academic year, Seton Hill announced the creation of the College of Health Professions and Natural Sciences at Seton Hill to better reflect the University’s position as a leader in health care education in southwestern Pennsylvania. The strategic establishment of the College showcases the growth of Seton Hill’s offerings in health care education, particularly at the graduate level, and the increase in enrollment and need for those programs over recent years.
