Seton Hill University Launches $110 Million Framing the Future Capital Campaign

Seton Hill University President Mary C. Finger along with members of the Seton Hill community publicly launched the largest capital campaign in Seton Hill’s history during an event at the University’s Performing Arts Center.

Framing the Future: The Campaign for Seton Hill University aims to raise $110 million by 2028, the 110th anniversary of Seton Hill’s founding as a four-year college, and is well on its way to its goal.

“I am pleased to announce the Framing the Future Campaign has raised $96.3 million to date,” President Finger said. “This incredible momentum sets us well on our path to reach our goal of $110 million by 2028 – and it is a testament to the belief Seton Hill’s alumni and benefactors have in our students and our future.”

“Today marks a milestone in the life of Seton Hill. We aren’t just launching a campaign to meet the needs of today – we are framing the future to ensure Seton Hill thrives for the next century and beyond,” said Rebecca Cost Snyder, Seton Hill Board of Trustees Chair and a Framing the Future Campaign Co-Chair.

Framing the Future will support three key priorities for Seton Hill University:

  • Mission and Identity: Programs and initiatives that foster the University’s Catholic, Setonian heritage;
  • Securing Student Success: Scholarships and academic support services that ensure a Seton Hill education remains within reach for every talented student; and
  • Strategic Growth through Innovation: Continuing the University’s forward momentum through
    • Academic Program Development, which aims to create new areas of study that meet regional workforce needs;
    • New and Updated Facilities, including the renovation of historic Sullivan Hall and the construction of a new Athletics Field House; and
    • Outreach and Community Engagement, which builds on the $194 million of annual economic development created by Seton Hill for the region and Commonwealth by strengthening support for entrepreneurs.

The renovation of Sullivan Hall, the nearly 100-year-old original activities building on campus, will provide state-of-the art classroom and laboratory space for the College of Health Professions and Natural Sciences and the School of Business and Technology, the two largest areas of enrollment for Seton Hill. In addition, a campus center with an expanded campus eatery and lounge as well as multi-purpose space for events and lectures will be part of the renovation.

The new Athletics Field House will offer indoor practice space, locker rooms and offices for a number of Seton Hill’s nationally-ranked athletic programs. Included in the new facility is a practice track – the university’s first on-campus offering for track and field.

Construction is set to start soon on the Field House, which is planned to open in Fall 2027. The Sullivan Hall renovation is planned to begin next spring.

Students, faculty, staff, alumni, donors and Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill gathered at the public launch event to learn more about the campaign and to celebrate the total raised to date.

The program included a dramatic presentation that highlighted Seton Hill’s history and how the University is moving forward in educating students in the tradition of its founders, the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill.

“While our goal is in sight, our work is not complete. I invite our alumni and friends to join us in this final stretch and help us build a future that is as bold as our past,” President Finger added. “Together, we will ensure that Seton Hill remains a dynamic presence in our world for the next century and beyond. Together, we will Frame the Future of Seton Hill University.”
