Commercial Music Major Chelsea Biehl recreates Taylor Swift Eras Tour Live on TikTok
Seton Hill senior Chelsea Biehl used her TikTok platform to spread joy to Taylor Swift fans who weren’t lucky enough to get tickets to the Taylor Swift Eras Tour this summer.
Biehl, a Commercial Music major, started going live once a week on TikTok during summer break performing a variety of songs. She began receiving a lot of requests from her audience to perform Taylor Swift’s music.
“I got a lot of comments from people saying that was the only Taylor Swift concert they could afford,” said Biehl, who lives in Irwin, Pa. “Then one day someone commented that I should do the entire Eras Tour, and my mom and I thought it sounded like a fun idea, so I decided to give it a shot.”
Biehl, who was fortunate enough to see Swift perform in Pittsburgh, gained thousands of followers on TikTok after she performed Swift’s entire set list live from her living room on August 11 – reaching an audience of more than 500,000 people throughout the night.
She repeated the concert a week later and got the attention of NBC News, who included a piece on her on their website.
Biehl said her Seton Hill education has impacted her life in a number of ways – from introducing her to the piano and helping her fall in love with that instrument to the advanced classes that are helping her hone her songwriting skills.
“Seeing that Seton Hill had a commercial music major helped me decide to pursue my music full time,” she said. “Having the classes and teachers that support that dream has been a huge help.”
After graduation, Biehl plans to pursue a career as a singer/songwriter in the country genre – exactly how Taylor Swift started her musical journey.
