Representatives of the National Cyber-Forensics and Training Alliance (NCFTA) visited Seton Hill on December 7 so members of the university's inaugural Esports team could thank the organization for its support.

The NCFTA sponsored the Esports team's gaming chairs embroidered with the Griffin Esports logo and the NCFTA logo. The organization was presented with its own gaming chair to take back to its offices in Pittsburgh.

Seton Hill has developed an important relationship with the NCFTA that benefits Seton Hill students studying cybersecurity. In 2018, Seton Hill became the first bachelor's degree program in the country to partner with the NCFTA, a Pittsburgh-based non-profit corporation focused on identifying, mitigating, and neutralizing cybercrime threats globally.

Through this partnership, Seton Hill students are able to explore internship and research opportunities with the NCFTA. The NCFTA also collaborates with Seton Hill on the development of Seton Hill cybersecurity courses so that the major can advance as technology does. The NCFTA is on the frontlines of identifying and mitigating cyberthreats, and their involvement with our program provides Seton Hill students with real-world learning in real time.

Several of the NCFTA representatives on hand for the event have Seton Hill ties, including Stacy Moore, Malware and Cyber Threats (MCT) Program Manager, who is a Seton Hill cybersecurity instructor; Seton Hill alumni Kaleigh Muko, an MCT Intelligence Analyst and Justin Timothy, an MCGT Intelligence Analyst; and current student Kayla Hartnett, an MCT Intelligence Analyst.
