Seton Hill Business Graduate Grateful He 'Ended Up on a Hill in Greensburg'
Albe Alberici Chose Seton Hill for Affordability & Apple Distinguished School Benefits
Albe Alberici graduated from Seton Hill on May 7. He was kind enough to take some time out of his busy last week of classes and finals to share some thoughts on his time here.
What made you choose Seton Hill for your bachelor’s?
When choosing a university, the number one criteria for me was affordability. The staff of Seton Hill worked with me to find grants and scholarships so that I can afford to attend university here. Seton Hill being an Apple Distinguished School also played a large role in my decision to come here to study. I remember being a high school freshman attending a college fair. While there I stumbled upon Seton Hill’s booth, where they spoke on how they provided students with MacBook laptops and iPad tablets. I remember that standing out to me, and I kept it in the back of my mind when applying to universities during my senior year of high school. When it came time to make a decision of where to commit to, Seton Hill was in my top three. The costs were similar but the MacBook really sweetened the deal for me. I never expected that I would end up on a Hill in Greensburg for my college career, but I am so very grateful that I did.
Did Seton Hill’s Mobile Learning Program add to your educational experience in the way you hoped it would?
I loved having a universal system of Apple products. I never had to worry if there would be issues with non compatibility of technology, because everyone at the university shared the same systems. Having Apple TV’s and a MacBook together made presentations so effortless. With few clicks I can have my laptop screen shared with the entire class. Additionally, when my computer broke, I was able to get my hard drive moved to a loaner laptop so that I wasn’t left behind when it was getting fixed. I really loved having an Apple Distinguished School and I think more universities should adapt similar policies.

Why did you choose to major in business?
Coming into college, I was an undecided student, I wasn’t sure of what field I wanted to enter, but I knew I had an interest in both business and computer science. From there, I found that Seton Hill offered the degree of Business Administration with a specialization in information management. That program offers courses both under the business field and computer science field so it was an opportunity to get the best of both worlds. [Note: Beginning in fall 2022 Business Administration has a new name: Business Management. The major still offers courses in information management.]
What do you think your favorite Seton Hill memories will be?
There are so many amazing memories to choose from. I think many of my fondest memories came from my involvement in various clubs like Soccer Club, Volleyball Club, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. The friendships and laughs I experienced in those groups will stick with me for a long time. However, if I had to narrow it down to one prominent memory, that would be participating in Heartthrob on the Hill this past year. It was a big jump outside of my comfort zone but I ended up having so much fun with it. Even though I didn’t win, I am still proud of how it all went.
What would you like to share with high school students who may be considering Seton Hill?
I graduated from a small high school where I was able to know everyone. While looking at colleges, I wanted to make sure I went to one on the smaller side because I did not want to get lost in the crowd. I’ve found that Seton Hill has an amazing and welcoming community where you can easily fit yourself in. Even if I don’t know everyone personally, I can still see lots of familiar faces on the daily. Also, Seton Hill has an exceptionally beautiful campus. If you’re going to spend four years of your life somewhere you definitely want it to be visually appealing.
