Sven Rabsahl earned his computer science and cybersecurity bachelor's degrees at Seton Hill. Now, he’s studying project management in the MBA Program. His plan is to work for a tech startup. Here, he answers a few questions about his experiences on the Hill, and his hopes for the future.

Why did you decide to get your MBA at Seton Hill?  

I found my home on the Hill. I chose the MBA with a specialization in Project Management to combine with my undergrad degrees of computer science and cybersecurity. I thought this program would be the best fit for my interests.

What’s the experience been like so far?

My experiences in the MBA Program so far have been amazing! The faculty has such a wide range of skills and professional experience. You not only learn about the class material, but also gain insight on the industry we are studying. The ability to work with my classmates and gain knowledge from one another has to be the best part. You’re not going through the program alone. Others are always there to help! 

How did you become a graduate assistant in the Admissions Office at Seton Hill?

While I was looking into graduate schools and programs a GA position was important to me. I was taking on the costs of schooling myself, and the opportunity to gain professional experience would greatly benefit my future. Staying at SHU was important to me, so when I saw a position in admissions, I jumped on it.

What are your plans for after you graduate with your MBA?

I plan on taking some time for myself to travel before entering the workforce. A self-care trip/vacation after being in school for 18 years would greatly benefit me. After my vacation I have hopes of jumping into a tech company (preferably a startup) on the business side of things, while also utilizing my tech degrees. There might also be hopes of starting a personal project and expanding into a business, but you’ll have to stay tuned for that one. 

What would you like to share with someone who is considering coming to Seton Hill for a graduate degree?

At Seton Hill you have the flexibility of receiving your graduate degree the way that works best for you; may it be online, in person or a combination of both. The faculty and staff are so welcoming and put the student’s best interest first. The smaller classroom sizes allows the content to be personalized for the students and makes for easy communication with your classmates as well as the faculty and staff.
