Exercise Science Majors Attend American College of Sports Medicine Conference
Seton Hill exercise science majors and faculty headed to Harrisburg, Pa. in November to attend the 44th annual conference of the Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (MARC ACSM). At the conference, they enjoyed networking, lectures, research presentations and an exercise science/sports medicine trivia competition with students from colleges across Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey and New York.
“Eighteen students attended lectures on exercise and immunology, running economy, exercise and cancer, sports performance, entrepreneurship and the fitness industry,” said Brian Larouere, Ph.D., EP-C, associate professor and program director of exercise science at Seton Hill. “In addition to the sessions, many colleges and universities send representatives to provide information on graduate programs at their schools. Our students really enjoyed this.”
“The MARC ACSM Conference was nothing but amazing and inspiring,” says Jonah Zembower, an exercise science and data science double major. “I got to learn so much about the usage of exercise with cancer treatment, disease prevention, nutrition, and strength training in the latest case studies and information.”
