Graphic Design Major Rachel Cidor Enjoys Marketing Internship, Exhibiting Work
by Chelsianna Havko, English/environmental studies major & marketing communication intern
Rachel Cidor is a senior graphic design major at Seton Hill University. Rachel recently talked with us about her design experiences - including exhibiting her work in Harlan Gallery.
Why did you choose Seton Hill and the graphic design major?
I have always loved art so when it came time for me to choose a major I was immediately drawn to graphic design. I knew an education at Seton Hill would provide me with amazing art facilities, a creative community, and plenty of opportunities.
What has your experience been like majoring in graphic design at Seton Hill?
My experience as a graphic design major at Seton Hill has been incredible. The classes I have taken cover a wide variety of design aspects that have prepared me to become a design professional, including classes in animation, photography, web design, professional practice and many more. I have been able to present my artwork to the public in the Harlan Gallery every year.

Can you tell me more about what you do as a graphic design intern for Seton Hill’s Marketing Department?
As a graphic design intern for the marketing team much of my work includes the editing and creation of email graphics, magazine ads, and website story headers. I also have worked on editing photos for the Child Development Center and the Spring 2021 Commencement Ceremony. I designed t-shirts to be used by the admissions office. I also designed laptop stickers for an IT event that was held during Welcome Weekend this fall.
How has interning for the Marketing Department added to what you learned in the classroom? Have you learned anything new through the experience?
Through my internship in the Marketing Department I have been able to experience what it is like to work as part of a team. I enjoy receiving feedback on the projects I am working on and continue to find ways to improve upon my work.
What are your plans after graduation?
I am graduating in December 2021 and I am currently searching for a job where I can continue to utilize my skills as a graphic designer and expand upon my artistic abilities.
