The Black Student Union (BSU) in collaboration with the Multicultural and International Students Organization (MISO) held their annual Fashion Show on April 19th, 2018. The event was coordinated by Seton Hill Hospitality and Tourism Senior and BSU President, Sahara Duncan. The theme of this year’s show was “Setting the Trend,” which aimed to educate the Seton Hill community on the importance of learning about different cultures and to embrace diversity and cultural differences.
The event began with a Red Carpet Social and was then followed by the Fashion Show. Throughout the show, the Multicultural and International Students Organization represented a number of countries and territories by having members model national costumes from their homes. Countries and territories represented were Japan, China, United States of America, Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands.
“In addition to my Events Management course, this event helped bring light to the tasks of an event coordinator,” said Sahara, who is looking forward to a career as an event coordinator. “I was able to identify my specific strengths and weaknesses for future event planning.”
