Seton Hill freshman women’s basketball player Cheyenne Trest was named PSAC West Freshman of the Year after a phenomenal first season for the Griffins. Trest is the first women’s basketball player at Seton Hill to earn a major PSAC award. The awards are voted on by the league’s head coaches. 

Trest was the second leading scorer for the Griffins, averaging 14 points per game.  She also led the team in assists with 88 and blocks with 19.  She shot 41 percent from the floor, 39 percent from three point land and 84 percent from the free throw line. Trest scored in double figures in 24 of her 30 games played and scored a career high 35 points against Slippery Rock.  

She was named the league's freshman of the week nine times during the season.

Other honors went to senior forward Jenna Kaufman, who was a first team selection for the PSAC West. Kaufman led the Griffins in scoring and rebounding, averaging 17.4 points and 8 rebounds per game.  Both of those marks were sixth best in the league.  Jenna shot 40 percent from the floor and added 72 assists, 32 steals and 10 blocks.  She posted 10 double doubles on the season and scored in double figures in 26 of her 30 games.  Kaufman was also in the top five in the league, shooting 84 percent from the free throw line. She scored her 1,000th career point earlier in the season.

The Griffins completed their most successful regular season in PSAC play, and won their first-ever PSAC playoff game against Gannon University. Their season ended with a loss to Indiana University of Pennsylvania in the quarterfinals of the PSAC tournament.
