Seton Hill University Named an Apple Distinguished School for 2017-2019
Seton Hill University is pleased to announce that it has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2017–2019 for its distinctive efforts to integrate mobile technology throughout the campus by providing the entire university community with both the tools and the support they need to enrich teaching and learning.
Apple Distinguished Schools are centers of innovation, leadership, and educational excellence that use technology to inspire creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking. They showcase innovative uses of technology in learning, teaching, and the school environment and have documented results of academic accomplishment.
“Seton Hill is proud to be recognized by Apple for the fifth time since the University created its Mobile Learning @ the Hill program in 2010,” said Mary C. Finger, Seton Hill University president. “Over the past seven years, Seton Hill has provided the right technology tools that students need to fully engage in the digital world, and our faculty have developed pedagogy that encourages using those tools in new and exciting ways. Seton Hill fosters a culture of collaborative learning through the Innovative Teaching and Learning Center, which offers educational resources to faculty on ways to integrate technology in the classroom. These efforts ensure that Seton Hill students are prepared for the ways technology will impact their career path today and into the future.”
“The use of mobile technology at Seton Hill enables the University community to explore new ways to use technology to enrich and expand the teaching and learning experience for all learners,” said Mary Spataro, director of the Innovative Teaching and Learning Center at Seton Hill. “Faculty use mobile technology to enlighten and illuminate their classroom lessons and engage students in learning in compelling ways.”
