“’The world can stay as it is if enough people are found living lives worthy of human beings.’ Good people, that is.” The gods are in search of one good person. Shen Te, a village prostitute, could be that person, but can she remain good in a world where people are selfish, greedy and corrupt? Brecht’s parable asks us to question human nature and the price of goodness.
