Hospitality & Tourism Student Earns Prestigious Industry Award
Katie Kincade, a senior in Seton Hill’s Hospitality and Tourism Program, is the recipient of the Pennsylvania Restaurant & Lodging Association’s 2015 Future of the Industry Award. The award is given to only one student in the entire state of Pennsylvania each year.
According to PRLA, the Future of the Industry Award “recognizes a student furthering his or her career in the culinary or hospitality industry and who has work and volunteer experience within the industry, while maintaining a high level of academic performance. This person displays notable industry involvement and strong leadership potential.”
Assistant Professor James Bosco, D.Ed. nominated Katie for this honor. “I felt an immense sense of pride for Katie and validation of the SHU hospitality program,” he says of the award. “Katie started at Seton Hill the same year I took over the program and seeing the transformation from her freshman year until now has been an incredibly rewarding experience.”
"Being able to walk into a room of the best of the best hospitality professionals in western Pennsylvania and NOT having to introduce myself was a moment I will never forget. And I could not have done it without Seton Hill!"
