Dance Faculty TaMara Swank's Original Choreography Selected for Festival
Seton Hill Dancers Only College Troupe to Perform at Festival
Seton Hill University Assistant Professor of Dance TaMara Swank was invited to share her original choreography at the 30th Annual Jazz & Tap Festival in Virginia held in March.
Swank traveled to the festival with nine Seton Hill dance students who performed two of her original pieces at the festival. Swank was invited by festival director Marilyn York.
The Jazz & Tap Festival aims to bring the dance forms to a concert stage.
The Seton Hill performers were the only college of university dance troupe to perform at the festival, which included professional dance companies from the Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. area.
Swank and the Seton Hill students were able to make additional connections with the professional dance companies and have been invited back to perform in the show annually.
