The Seton Hill Arts Center was honored with a Gold Commonwealth Award by 10,000 Friends of Pennsylvania for its role in expanding economic development to the City of Greensburg. 

Seton Hill President Mary C. Finger and Vice President for Institutional Advancement Christine Mueseler accepted the award in the Community Institution category during the awards ceremony in Lancaster in December. 

The Commonwealth Awards is 10,000 Friends’ signature recognition program that honors and celebrates great development projects and the people who make them happen. Through the Commonwealth Awards, 10,000 Friends recognizes leading and innovative development projects that utilize best practices creating great walkable, sustainable, equitable, healthy communities. 

The Commonwealth Award recognizes the Seton Hill Arts Center’s role as a community resource. The Arts Center provides a catalyst for economic development in Greensburg and gives residents the opportunity to view art exhibits and dance performances in the heart of downtown Greensburg. 

The Seton Hill Arts Center, along with the Performing Arts Center that opened in 2009, enhance the artistic offerings in Greensburg and provide a vibrant place for people to live, learn and work.
