The Seton Hill University Board of Trustees has elected Patricia O’Donoghue, a higher education leader at both the regional and national level, to the University’s Board membership. 

Michele Ridge, Chair of the Seton Hill Board said, "We are pleased to welcome Patricia O’Donoghue to the Board. She brings leadership, experience, and a wonderful commitment to Catholic higher education to the position. Her insight will prove valuable as we work together to develop strategies to best serve our students." 

Seton Hill President Mary Finger added, “Pat O'Donoghue is a well-respected and dynamic leader, whose extensive expertise and extraordinary accomplishments will help us in a compelling way. We look forward to working with Pat to advance the mission of Seton Hill." 

A scholar and teacher with broad clinical and research experience, Patricia O’Donoghue is President Emerita of Mount Mary College (now University) in Milwaukee. She served as President of Mount Mary from 1997 to 2006. She was Vice President for Academic Affairs and Professor of Nursing at LaRoche College in Pittsburgh from 1995 to 1997 and served at Carlow University in Pittsburgh from 1979 to 1995, where she was Provost and Executive Vice President among other roles. 

Most recently, Pat served as Interim President of DePaul University from August 2014 until December 2014. She served in this capacity while DePaul’s President, Rev. Dennis H. Holtschneider, C.M. completed a sabbatical at Harvard University. Prior to becoming Interim President, Pat held multiple positions at DePaul, including Interim Provost and Vice President for Strategic Initiatives & Alumni Outreach. 

She was a member of the founding faculty of the School Nurse Practitioner Program at Carlow and held positions at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, University of Pittsburgh, Magee-Women's Hospital and Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. 

Pat, who holds a doctoral degree in nursing from the University of Pittsburgh, has received numerous accolades for leadership, including the YWCA Wisconsin Women of Distinction Award; the School Sisters of Notre Dame-Milwaukee Province Special Achievement Award; and the Distinguished Alumna Award from the University Of Pittsburgh School of Nursing. 

She has served on the boards of many nonprofit schools and organizations, including the Foundation for Independent Higher Education, the Women's College Coalition, and the American Council on Education Commission on Women in Higher Education.
