Seton Hill Alumni Host Retreat featuring Msgr. Michael Begolly and Sister Susan Jenny, SC on Nov. 7

What: The Seton Hill University Alumni Association is hosting the 2015 Day of Reflection program “Prayer: A Path to Peace,” a retreat featuring guest speakers Msgr. Michael Begolly and Sister Susan Jenny, SC. The event is open to the public.

When: Saturday, November 7, 2015. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with the daylong retreat starting at 11 a.m. The day is expected to end with a 4 p.m. Mass.

Where: Caritas Christi, McCullough Room, 129 DePaul Center Road, Greensburg, Pa.

Who: Msgr. Michael Begolly, who has served numerous parishes in the Diocese of Greensburg since his ordination in 1981, is currently the pastor of Mount Saint Peter Parish in New Kensington. Msgr. Begolly, who earned his doctorate of ministry degree from the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago in 1994, served as the Director of the Office of Worship for the Diocese of Greensburg from 1994 to 1999. He is author of “Leading the Assembly in Prayer: A Practical Guide for Lay and Ordained Presiders.”

Sister Susan Jenny, SC, a 1966 graduate of Seton Hill, served for 15 years as a faculty member in Seton Hill’s religious studies/theology department, as Dean of Students, and as a Campus Minister. She has ministered through the Diocese of Greensburg in projects for lay ministry development and as coordinator of faith formation at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral in Greensburg and is currently involved with children’s catechesis at Mount Saint Peter Parish in New Kensington. Sister Susan, who earned a master’s degree in theology from St. John’s University in Collegeville, Minn. and conducted further Biblical studies in the Holy Land, currently serves as a member of the leadership team of the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill.

Registration: The Seton Hill University Alumni Association 2015 Day of Reflection “Prayer: A Path to Peace” is open to the public at a cost of $30 per person or $50 for two participants. Those interested in attending may RSVP at www.alumni.setonhill.edu/DOR or call 724-830-1005. As a community service initiative, those in attendance are asked to donate a non-perishable food item to The Sisters of Charity Food Drive, supporting Rendu Services, which works with and for the underserved people of Fayette County.
