Volleyball Picked Fourth in West in PSAC Preseason Poll



For the second straight season the Griffin volleyball team has been selected to finish fourth in the West in the PSAC Preseason Coaches Poll.  The results were released by the league office on Tuesday afternoon.  Last season, the Griffins finished their most successful season of play in the PSAC by finishing in second place in the west with an 18-4 mark.  The team won their PSAC quarterfinal matchup with Gannon and hosted the PSAC Championships for the first time in school history.  The Griffins defeated Shippensburg in the semifinals before falling to California in the PSAC final.  The team finished the season with a 32-6 overall record and earned their second straight NCAA Tournament berth.  SHU advanced to their first ever NCAA Regional semifinal with a win over Gannon.  The Griffins will open their 2015 season when they take part in the Indiana (PA) Tournament on September 4-5.  SHU will travel to Eckerd and Wheeling Jesuit for tournaments before hosting a round of PSAC Crossovers the weekend of Sept 25-26.  The Griffins open PSAC West play when they travel to Gannon on October 2nd.
