The Seton Hill University Theatre and Dance Program will present the comedy “Tartuffe” by Molière in a new verse version by Constance Congdon November 14-22 in the William Granger Ryan Theatre, Performing Arts Center, 100 Harrison Avenue, Greensburg, Pa. When the gullible patriarch Orgon falls under the persuasive spell of the “devout” Tartuffe, hilarious family plotting ensues. Tartuffe has designs on the family fortune, Orgon’s daughter and Orgon’s wife. Molière’s classic comedy, updated to the present day and set in Orange County, Calif., takes an unflinching look at religious hypocrisy.

Seton Hill Theatre’s production of “Tartuffe” is directed by Denise Pullen, associate professor of theatre. Professional artistic staff for the production includes Ken Clothier, assistant professor of theatre, sound coordinator and lighting designer; Melinda Eshelman, adjunct instructor of theatre, costume design; Karen Glass, assistant professor of theatre, scene designer; and Vincent Lobello, technical director.

Venue Information: All Seton Hill Theatre and Dance performances are held in the William Granger Ryan Theatre in Seton Hill’s Performing Arts Center, 100 Harrison Avenue, Greensburg, Pa.
