Hockman Finishes 10th in Long Jump at National Championships
Senior Taylor Hockman competed in the long jump at the NCAA Division II National Championships in Winston Salem, NC on Friday afternoon. Hockman nearly missed the finals and finished 10th in the event. Hockman's best jump of 7.10 meters put him just behind the last person who qualified for finals at 7.16 meters. Taylor fouled on his first attempt before jumping 6.99 meters in his second jump. His last jump was his best when he hit the jump of 7.10 meters. Dejon Wilkerson of St Augustine won the event with a leap of 7.56 meters. Taylor will close out the national championships when he competes in the triple jump on Saturday at 2 PM.
