Seton Hill University Officially Joins Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference

Seton Hill University has officially joined the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) effective July 1.

The move, which was announced in August 2012, means the Griffins will play their inaugural full conference regular season schedule with the PSAC this fall. The first PSAC contest for Seton Hill will take place with a women's soccer match at Clarion University on September 5.

“We are thrilled to be joining the highly competitive environment of the PSAC,” said Chris Snyder, Seton Hill executive director of Athletics. “Our student-athletes and coaches are excited and ready for the challenges and opportunities that the PSAC provides. We look forward to building new rivalries with our fellow conference members.”

Seton Hill joins the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown as the two newest members of the now 18-school conference.

"We are very pleased to have Seton Hill and Pitt-Johnstown joining the PSAC,” said Steve Murray, PSAC Commissioner. “This expansion solidifies our footprint in Pennsylvania and will add even more interest and excitement to what we believe to be one of the best leagues in the NCAA."

“The members of the PSAC have student body profiles that align well with Seton Hill’s. The Conference places a strong emphasis on the preparation of the student-athlete to be a good citizen, leader and contributor in the community,” Snyder added. “We look forward to Seton Hill student-athletes continuing in the great tradition of the PSAC. The move will not only benefit Seton Hill, our student-athletes and fans, but we believe the PSAC as well.”

Seton Hill completed its competition schedule with the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WVIAC) in 2012-2013 after a seven-year relationship.
