Christian and Jewish Travelers to Visit the Holy Land Together in January 2011
Information Session Scheduled for August 30 at Congregation Emanu-El Israel
Sister Lois Sculco, S.C., vice president for Mission and Student Life at Seton Hill University, and Rabbi Sara Perman, leader of the Congregation Emanu-El Israel in Greensburg, Pa., will lead a group from the local community on the second interfaith tour to Israel. The trip will take place January 4-13, 2011. Individuals interested in learning more about the interfaith tour are invited to attend a special information session on Monday, August 30, at 7 p.m., at Congregation Emanu-El Israel, 22 North Main Street, Greensburg, Pa. Christian and Jewish travelers will explore, tour and learn about the land of the Bible. The trip, which is coordinated by Congregation Emanu-El Israel and Seton Hill University, is designed for those who wish to see Israel and have a better understanding of both the Christian and Jewish faiths.
The tour will include visits to Tel Aviv, Nazareth, Mount of Beatitudes, the Sea of Galilee, Jerusalem, Mt. Zion, the Dead Sea Basin, Yad Vashem (Israel’s Holocaust Remembrance Authority), Bethlehem and the Israel Museum.
