The Seton Hill University women's basketball and golf teams are pleased to host the first annual “Women of the Hill” Golf Outing on Sunday, August 22, at The Links at Spring Church in Apollo, Pa. The event will begin at 1:30 p.m. with a shotgun start. Dinner and awards will follow the event. The cost for the outing is $85 per golfer, or $340 for a foursome, and includes 18 holes of golf with cart, green fees, entry gift, refreshments, dinner and awards. A hole in one contest will be held; the winner will receive a cash prize of $25,000, a Bose stereo system or new Nike golf clubs. For more information, contact Peggy Duffy at 724-830-1162. “Our Griffins’ influence is strong and vibrant, having attained national recognition both in the classroom and on the playing fields,” said Carolyn Thompson, head coach, women’s golf. “Through the ‘Women of the Hill’ event, we hope to raise funds in order to expand our competitive opportunities for both the women’s golf and basketball programs.
