Seton Hill Professor Presenter at World Business Conference in Cincinnati
Lloyd Gibson, D.Sc., assistant professor of business and director of the Master of Business Administration Program and Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities at Seton Hill University, presented at the International Council for Small Business 55th World Conference in Cincinnati, Ohio, June 24-27, 2010. The conference was attended by 400 scholars and practitioners representing 56 countries. The theme of the 2010 conference was “Entrepreneurship: Bridging Global Boundaries.”
Gibson and his wife, Regina Gibson, D.Sc., are the co-authors of the paper, “Entrepreneurial Attitudes of Arts and Business Students,” that was presented at the conference. The paper was recognized as one of five finalists for the best empirical research paper and was published in the conference proceedings.
“Through my participation in the 2010 International Council for Small Business World Conference, I hope to learn more about current theories and practices related to entrepreneurship and small business throughout the world,” said Gibson, of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Gibson has 28 years of banking experience, including 14 years as the president and CEO of three different community banks. He has also worked as a senior credit officer, chief lending officer, and head of commercial lending. Gibson obtained both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts degrees in mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his Master of Business Administration degree with a major in finance and public management from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Gibson received his Doctor of Science in Information Systems and Communications from Robert Morris University. He currently serves as a trustee on the board of the Pittsburgh History and Landmarks Foundation.
