GREENSBURG, PA- Theodore DiSanti, a resident of Greensburg, recently joined Seton Hill College as assistant professor of music. A native of New Castle and once an assistant band director for New Castle High School, DiSanti left a position as associate professor of music and the director of jazz studies at Minnesota State University at Moorhead to be closer to his family. In his new position, he will serve as the director of the jazz band and jazz combos and teach trumpet.
Since his arrival at Seton Hill, DiSanti has developed plans to expand the jazz curriculum for teaching and performance and is also interested in creating an honors jazz ensemble for high school students coordinated through the community music program.
DiSanti has performed in Moorhead with the Fargo Moorhead Opera, the Fargo Moorhead Civic Opera, the Fargo Moorhead Symphony Orchestra and the Jazz Arts Big Band. He received his BA in music from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, and a BM and MM from Youngstown State University. He is currently pursuing doctoral studies at the University of Northern Colorado.
