GREENSBURG, PA- During the Seton Hill Golf Invitational at Ligonier Country Club on Mondy, October 1st, the SHC golf team awarded staff members of the Country Club with a plaque of appreciation for not only their support of the SHC golf team, but for all women golfers.
“We wanted to show the staff members how much we appreciate the time and space to practice here,” said Paul Dominic, SHC women’s golf coach. “Each and every one of them made the girls feel comfortable and helped make our invitational one of the biggest on the tour because of the excellent facilities. The people at Ligonier are forward thinkers and really embraced women golfers, making the creation of our team that much easier.”
Dominic added that the team also wanted to thank the members of the Country Club for being so cooperative.
The golf team had more reason to celebrate: they placed second overall in the invitation out of six schools, in addition, freshman Amanda Levering shot the lowest score and was a medallist.
“Amanda has really made an impact on the team in the three weeks she’s been here,” Dominic said. “Already she’s won lowest score, 1st runner up and has placed as a medallist.”
Other members of the team include: senior Nikki Dominic, junior Katey Furman, junior Leah Yuhouse, sophomore Melissa Lupari and freshman Jessica Shuey.
Other teams who participated in the invitational were: Malone College, Grove City College, Mount St. Mary College, the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg.
