Kerra Alexander graduated in 2007 from Point Park University in Pittsburgh, PA with a BA in dance with a modern and ballet concentration. She is a teacher, choreographer, and a mom. Miss Alexander has been teaching for more than a decade. Her focus is to inspire students through the art of dance. Currently she works as the Community Education Coordinator and Instructor at Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre. This entails teaching ballet, creative movement and contemporary for the School and in the community. She also instructs and advises at local dance studios. Her numerous students have gone on to dance in ballet and modern companies, on broadway, cruise lines, music videos, tv shows and the rockettes. Miss Alexander has trained with many renowned instructors including Kennet Oberly, Trinette Singleton, Nina Bravo, Laura Alonzo, Lou Ann Young among others. She danced for professionally for 8 years in different companies namely Staycee Pearl Dance Company, MadHouse Productions, Shana Simmons Dance as well as many other grant based projects. She has also taught master classes, judged for dance competitions, and choreographed a musical. She believes that dance is a vibrant art form that can express all aspects of the human spirit as a force for positive change and growth. She is incredibly excited to begin a new venture with Seton Hill!
