Kachina Mooney, MA, LPC, ATR-BC, currently resides and works in the Pittsburgh, PA region following graduation from Seton Hill University with a master’s degree in Art Therapy and Counseling. Kachina has worked exclusively with the immigrant/refugee and LGBTQIA+ populations who have faced past trauma, violence, and significant grief/loss. Kachina’s clinical work includes a trauma-informed approach alongside existential and relational-cultural perspectives helping her to understand her clients (and the world) from an experientially-focused viewpoint. Kachina dedicates much of her time to sharing knowledge about art therapy and the field by advocating for an independent art therapy license in PA while serving on the board of directors for both PAATA and AATA. When Kachina is not spreading the word about art therapy, she enjoys spending downtime with her partners and three elder cats.
