I study the effects of early-life environments on behavior, growth, and survival. I use the eastern fence lizard (Sceloporus undulatus) as a model system, and I am particularly interested in populations of this species in Pennsylvania. In addition to this behavioral ecology work, I study how environmental toxins impact the growth, survival, and reproduction in insect model systems. I am particularly interested in plant-derived toxins, such as caffeine, and how it relates to plant-insect interactions. I also oversee the operation of the greenhouse on campus.
