Audrey Quinlan
Audrey Quinlan, D.Ed., M.Ed., B.S., Indiana University of Pennsylvania. K-6, Elementary Teacher, Curriculum Supervisory Certificate and Principal Certificate, Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Former Education Division Chair; Former Graduate Program Director, Elementary/ Middle Level Education. Dr. Quinlan holds state certifications as a principal, a curriculum supervisory specialist, and an elementary teacher and has taught in both public and parochial schools. She has also served as an elementary/middle school principal and has conducted workshops at local, national and international levels on Creating Scoring Rubrics as an Assessment Guide, Storytelling, Conflict Resolution, and Learning to Learn. Dr. Quinlan is the author of a book on assessment entitled A COMPLETE GUIDE to RUBRICS: ASSESSMENT MADE EASY for TEACHERS, K-COLLEGE and one on gifted education, GIFTED OR JUST PLAIN SMART: TEACHING THE 99th PERCENTILE MADE EASY. In addition, she is an invited contributing author of The Encyclopedia of Educational Psychology (Sage Publishing) and has had articles published in Horn Book, Principal Magazine, Phi Delta Kappan, and Educational Digest. Dr. Quinlan has taught courses in reading and language arts, elementary math, brain-based teaching and learning, curriculum and instruction, and gifted education at the undergraduate and graduate levels at Seton Hill where she has also supervised student teachers. She is a member of The National Council of Teachers of Math, The International Reading Association, The National Middle School Association, and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Her scholarly interests include assessment, young adult literature, school partnerships, brain-based teaching, gifted education, teacher efficacy, national accreditation, and middle level teacher certification. Her committee work at SHU includes Admissions, Honors Advisory Board, Graduate Advisory Council, Dean’s Council, and Academic Leadership. She was a past faculty advisor to Alpha Lambda Delta, Honorary Society, where she initiated the SHU "Letters to Santa" program.
